SkinMonitor project approved by Eurostars program

The Eureka Eurostars program approved the SkinMonitor project - Diagnosis of skin cancer based on ICT tools, led by INOVA+ in close collaboration with the Department of Dermatology and Venereology of Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto, Portugal, with the Department of Skin and Venereal Diseases of the University of Medicine of Kaunas, Lithuania, the Institute of Ultrasound of Technical University of Kaunas, Lithuania, the Labor srl - Laboratorio di Ricerca Industriale, Italy, and the German company Visiomed AG.

The SkinMonitor project will produce noninvasive ICT tools to improve accuracy of diagnosis of skin cancer through the analysis and fusion of information from digital imaging and ultrasound. By providing information about the morphological lesions, enables a better assessment of the extent of cancer within the body.

The project began in November 2009 and will last for 3 years.
