The traditional way to fill in the gap between research and industry has always been letting gravity work. Defining big strategic priorities – defense, space, energy- and financing over the top, with the hope that something will eventually fall at the bottom, assuming the shape of industry results. It has worked, for many years, although with a low effectiveness and big losses, but with the economy at the top of the priorities and the industry and market at the same level as scientific research in evolved societies, the time has arrived to find other ways to overcome the famous gap. Without gravity, the only way to approach research and industry is to push on one side and pulling on the other – and hard. Pushing innovation to the companies through the creation of interface structures, technology parks and technology transfer promotion, and pulling companies into innovation, funding entrepreneurial R&D and the creation of research structures in companies. The keys to success when it comes to innovation are to use the available means, whether direct – such as funding programmes - or indirect – such as tax benefits – to assess and value results, usually intangible, of the research, to effectively manage human resources, through training, motivation and to search adequate partnerships in each case. Since its creation in 1997, Inovamais is the leader in innovation, occupying the space between the scientific and entrepreneurial world and applying its knowledge and experience in innovation processes at the service of the leaders of tomorrow – the organizations who know how to innovate and know how to choose the right partner.
